I completely agree that the basics are of much importance especially in art, but as you said integrating technology such as instructional film could definitely make the content more relate-able to the students and time. Just as your caption says, balancing the old with the new is of great importance.
I love your image. I feel that when you sit and read a book people ask why aren't you using an ereader? You should get a nook or a kindle. It seems that technology is taking over society and if your not using people want to know whats wrong with you. Really great picture..
I agree Amy, I have an android smartphone and I don't know how many times people tell me I need to catch up with the times and get an iPhone. It's frustrating.
I also love the image, but I think I like the caption even more. Finding a balance seems to be tough these days. Especially for youngsters because they don't have the access and knowledge to the old stuff. They are so used to ipods, netflix, kindles, and iphones that having binders with tabs and folders for each subject seem so ancient! I also agree with film being the best technology in an art classroom because there is so many different forms of art that can be seen! So much inspiration in so many ways.
